Entropy는 쉽게 표현하면 무질서도. 어떤 계의 '무질서한 정도', 혹은 '규칙적이지 않은 정도'를 측정하는 물리학적 양이다. 예를 들어 같은 물질일 경우 온도가 올라갈수록 분자운동이 활발해져 내부 구조가 무질서해지므로 entropy가 높아진다.
