`2022년 반도체 산업 보고서` 발표

압도적 1위는 '칩 설계' 왕국 미국
전세계 각국별 반도체 산업 영향력 집계 결과

전세계 반도체 국가별 매출 집계에서 한국이 압도적인 메모리 반도체를 앞세워 2위를 기록했습니다. 파운드리 강국인 대만은 한국에 이은 3위를 기록했습니다. 1위는 칩 설계 강국인 미국이 차지했습니다.
시장조사기관 디지타임스는 최근 이 같은 내용을 담은 2022년 반도체 산업 보고서를 발표했습니다.
반도체 시장은 크게 메모리 반도체와 시스템 반도체로 구분됩니다. 매출 규모로 따지면 메모리 반도체가 35~40%를 차지하고 나머지 60%는 시스템 반도체 시장입니다.
1위를 차지한 미국은 5559억달러 규모의 지난해 반도체 시장에서 2739억달러의 매출을 기록했습니다. 전체 시장에 49.3%를 차지한 셈입니다.
미국은 특히 시스템반도체 칩 설계에서 강한 모습을 보이고 있습니다. 인텔, 엔비디아와 더불어 부동의 1위 AP칩 사업자인 퀄컴이 포진하고 있습니다. 메모리 반도체 제조 분야에서도 마이크론이 주요 사업자로 위치를 다지며 반도체 산업 최강국으로 군림하는데 든든한 뒷받침이 되어주었습니다.
메모리 강국 한국과 파운드리 최강자 대만 뒤이어
2위는 한국입니다. 한국은 메모리 반도체 생산에 집중한 삼성전자와 SK하이닉스 덕에 세계 2위 자리를 꿰찼습니다. 전체 반도체시장 점유율이 19.3%에 달합니다. 디지타임스는 "한국은 메모리 반도체 생산에 국한된 반도체산업의 약점을 극복하기 위해 칩 설계와 반도체 생산의 필수 재료인 웨이퍼 팹 분야에서 입지를 다지려고 노력 중"이라고 설명했습니다.
국가별 종합으로 보면 2위를 기록했지만 개별 기업으로만 따져보면 전 세계 매출 1위는 한국의 삼성전자입니다.
삼성전자는 지난해 매출 732억달러(약 89조8500억원)를 기록해 인텔(725억달러)을 누르고 1위에 다시 올랐습니다. 삼성전자 매출은 전년 대비 28% 증가했고, 인텔 매출은 같은 기간 0.3% 감소했습니다. 삼성전자(12.3%)와 인텔(12.2%)의 점유율 차이는 1%포인트였습니다.
세계 1위 지위를 유지하고 있는 파운드리(반도체 위탁생산)뿐 아니라 칩 설계에도 강한 대만은 반도체 매출 539억달러로 세계 3위에 올랐습니다. 그 선두에는 TSMC가 서 있습니다. 올해 최대 400억~440억달러(약 54조3000억원)를 투자해 미국 애리조나 공장과 일본 구마모토현 공장 신설, 대만 중남부 생산시설 확충에 나설 예정입니다. 이와 함께 올해 8000여 명에 달하는 직원 채용에 나설 것으로 예상됩니다.
4위는 반도체 매출 472억달러, 비중 8.5%를 차지하는 유럽이 차지했습니다. NXP, 인피니온 등이 포진하고 있는 유럽은 차량용 반도체에 특화되어 있습니다.
한때 반도체 최강국을 꿈꿨던 일본은 5위에 머물렀습니다. 지난해 총매출이 367억달러로 세계 시장의 6.6%를 차지했습니다.
투자 확대로 역전 노리는 유럽·일본·중국
유럽과 일본의 반도체 시장 영향력은 앞으로 더욱 커질 것으로 전망됩니다. 미국의 인텔과 대만의 TSMC가 각각 유럽과 일본에 새로운 전진기지를 세우겠다고 발표했기 때문입니다.
인텔은 유럽에 10년 동안 800억유로(약 106조5800억원)를 투자하겠다고 밝혔습니다. TSMC는 1조엔(약 9조6000억원)을 투자해 구마모토현 기쿠요마치에 공장을 짓고, 2024년 12월 생산을 시작할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다. 일본 정부는 자국 반도체 산업을 재건하기 위해 TSMC 공장 유치를 지원했습니다. 일본 정부는 구마모토에 반도체 공장을 짓는 TSMC에 4000억엔(약 3조8000억원)을 지원할 방침입니다.
디지타임스는 "일본과 한국의 좋지 않은 관계가 일본과 대만을 서로 더 가까이 끌어들이는 것으로 보인다"고 설명했습니다. 양국이 앞으로 더욱 힘을 합쳐 강력한 라이벌인 한국을 견제해나갈 가능성이 높다는 얘기입니다.
글로벌 톱5에 들기 위해 중국은 맹렬하게 추격해오고 있습니다. 중국의 세계 점유율은 6.1%로 일본을 따라잡기 목전까지 왔습니다. 디지타임스는 "중국 반도체 산업은 비교적 늦게 출발했지만 '빅펀드' 등 정부 지원에 힘입어 괄목할 만한 성장을 이뤘다"고 평가했습니다.

`2022년 반도체 산업 보고서` 발표

압도적 1위는 '칩 설계' 왕국 미국

전세계 반도체 국가별 매출 집계에서 한국이 압도적인 메모리 반도체를 앞세워 2위를 기록했습니다. 파운드리 강국인 대만은 한국에 이은 3위를 기록했습니다. 1위는 칩 설계 강국인 미국이 차지했습니다.
시장조사기관 디지타임스는 최근 이 같은 내용을 담은 2022년 반도체 산업 보고서를 발표했습니다.
반도체 시장은 크게 메모리 반도체와 시스템 반도체로 구분됩니다. 매출 규모로 따지면 메모리 반도체가 35~40%를 차지하고 나머지 60%는 시스템 반도체 시장입니다.
1위를 차지한 미국은 5559억달러 규모의 지난해 반도체 시장에서 2739억달러의 매출을 기록했습니다. 전체 시장에 49.3%를 차지한 셈입니다.
미국은 특히 시스템반도체 칩 설계에서 강한 모습을 보이고 있습니다. 인텔, 엔비디아와 더불어 부동의 1위 AP칩 사업자인 퀄컴이 포진하고 있습니다. 메모리 반도체 제조 분야에서도 마이크론이 주요 사업자로 위치를 다지며 반도체 산업 최강국으로 군림하는데 든든한 뒷받침이 되어주었습니다.
메모리 강국 한국과 파운드리 최강자 대만 뒤이어
2위는 한국입니다. 한국은 메모리 반도체 생산에 집중한 삼성전자와 SK하이닉스 덕에 세계 2위 자리를 꿰찼습니다. 전체 반도체시장 점유율이 19.3%에 달합니다. 디지타임스는 "한국은 메모리 반도체 생산에 국한된 반도체산업의 약점을 극복하기 위해 칩 설계와 반도체 생산의 필수 재료인 웨이퍼 팹 분야에서 입지를 다지려고 노력 중"이라고 설명했습니다.
국가별 종합으로 보면 2위를 기록했지만 개별 기업으로만 따져보면 전 세계 매출 1위는 한국의 삼성전자입니다.
삼성전자는 지난해 매출 732억달러(약 89조8500억원)를 기록해 인텔(725억달러)을 누르고 1위에 다시 올랐습니다. 삼성전자 매출은 전년 대비 28% 증가했고, 인텔 매출은 같은 기간 0.3% 감소했습니다. 삼성전자(12.3%)와 인텔(12.2%)의 점유율 차이는 1%포인트였습니다.
세계 1위 지위를 유지하고 있는 파운드리(반도체 위탁생산)뿐 아니라 칩 설계에도 강한 대만은 반도체 매출 539억달러로 세계 3위에 올랐습니다. 그 선두에는 TSMC가 서 있습니다. 올해 최대 400억~440억달러(약 54조3000억원)를 투자해 미국 애리조나 공장과 일본 구마모토현 공장 신설, 대만 중남부 생산시설 확충에 나설 예정입니다. 이와 함께 올해 8000여 명에 달하는 직원 채용에 나설 것으로 예상됩니다.
4위는 반도체 매출 472억달러, 비중 8.5%를 차지하는 유럽이 차지했습니다. NXP, 인피니온 등이 포진하고 있는 유럽은 차량용 반도체에 특화되어 있습니다.
한때 반도체 최강국을 꿈꿨던 일본은 5위에 머물렀습니다. 지난해 총매출이 367억달러로 세계 시장의 6.6%를 차지했습니다.
투자 확대로 역전 노리는 유럽·일본·중국
유럽과 일본의 반도체 시장 영향력은 앞으로 더욱 커질 것으로 전망됩니다. 미국의 인텔과 대만의 TSMC가 각각 유럽과 일본에 새로운 전진기지를 세우겠다고 발표했기 때문입니다.
인텔은 유럽에 10년 동안 800억유로(약 106조5800억원)를 투자하겠다고 밝혔습니다. TSMC는 1조엔(약 9조6000억원)을 투자해 구마모토현 기쿠요마치에 공장을 짓고, 2024년 12월 생산을 시작할 계획이라고 밝혔습니다. 일본 정부는 자국 반도체 산업을 재건하기 위해 TSMC 공장 유치를 지원했습니다. 일본 정부는 구마모토에 반도체 공장을 짓는 TSMC에 4000억엔(약 3조8000억원)을 지원할 방침입니다.
디지타임스는 "일본과 한국의 좋지 않은 관계가 일본과 대만을 서로 더 가까이 끌어들이는 것으로 보인다"고 설명했습니다. 양국이 앞으로 더욱 힘을 합쳐 강력한 라이벌인 한국을 견제해나갈 가능성이 높다는 얘기입니다.
글로벌 톱5에 들기 위해 중국은 맹렬하게 추격해오고 있습니다. 중국의 세계 점유율은 6.1%로 일본을 따라잡기 목전까지 왔습니다. 디지타임스는 "중국 반도체 산업은 비교적 늦게 출발했지만 '빅펀드' 등 정부 지원에 힘입어 괄목할 만한 성장을 이뤘다"고 평가했습니다.
